Uncle Abiah Becket and Effa Hill (Granddaughter). Effa was double second cousin of Martha Ann Farley McRoberts; Effa was sister of Frona Cannon. Picture taken in Latter 1870s at Carthage Indiana. If anyone knows more about this family PLEASE contact me. Martha Ann Farley was the daughter of Caleb N Farley and Emily Caroline Smith. Emily Caroline Smith's Father was Joseph Alfred Smith. Joseph Alfred Smith was married to Zelema Beckett b. 1826. She was the daughter of John Beckett who was born 2 Jun 1798 in Montgomery, Virginia, United States and died Oct 1874 in Lawrence, Lawrence, Ohio, United States and Nancy E King, born 17 Sep 1795 in Virginia, and died 6 Sep 1856 in Lawrence, Lawrence, Ohio, United States. Abiah is the youngest son of John Beckett and Nancy King. John Beckett was the son of James Beckett, born 18 Sep 1774 in Botetourt, Virginia, and died 20 Jan 1868 in Cabel, Virginia, United States. If there is anyone out there that knows anything about the Smith family I would really appreciate more help.
This is a CALL OUT to all you Farleys... I participated in the AncestryDNA test and am getting some good leads to other cousins. Not yet any Farleys though. The Ancestry DNA test is a simple saliva test. It is so easy to participate. The cost is $99.00 (at this time). So far I have about 300 people with similar DNA markers. Many of these I am able to go in and see their public trees and check like names. Try it.... It's pretty exciting. It's a great way to start collaborating with cousins. http://dna.ancestry.com
